HEY FOLKS HAPPY WEEKEND! THIS IS A GAME ANNOUNCEMENT
From Aug 25th-28th the birds are gonna run a ritual I call Seal It With a Kiss! It'll go up around noon PST on the 25th, and turn-in for scoring will be due by 9 PM PST of Aug 28th. I will get winners etc. up on the 28th.
This is a multi-day mingle-type game, so if you can't be there right at game start then no worries, you've got a few days.
Weeds do not have a special role in this one, everyone gets clowned on equally when the birds are in charge.
-
Here's how it goes:
This game centers around seven key emotions, loosely correspondent to the six flocks and the Weeds! These emotions are: joy (Daffodil - yellow), affection/love (Bluebell - blue), sorrow (Lily - grey), anger (Rose - red), disgust (Thistle - purple), calm (Clover - green), and fear (Weeds - black).
When you sign up, pick one of these key emotions for your character to lose at game start! They're just torn right out of them, Princess Tutu style, and form a ghostly colour-coded replica of them somewhere in the pasture. Your character remains your character, but you get to play them as they are without that key emotion.
You also get to play the replica as other characters run into it -- they are essentially identical to your character, except that they solely embody that emotion. Absurdly happy Lyra, uncontrollably grieving Rubato, a version of Pudding absolutely disgusted at everything -- whatever extreme emotional version you want to play.
At the start of the game, characters/replicas don't have the ability to go outside the fenced meadow which contains Woolietown and the barns, and for some weird reason they can't enter any buildings at least at the start of the game, but they can wander around at random in the open areas.
The goal is to find these emotions and get them all back where they're supposed to be! Uh-oh.
-
How you do that is HERE, some other situational stuff is HERE, space for questions is HERE, and informal signups are HERE! You are not required to sign up to play, but it may be helpful for your team/CR to make plans if they see you're in and have an idea of what they're gonna be playing with on your end.

mechanics
1. Get the two versions within five feet of each other! Do this however you need to. Convince them, just walk them there politely, throw a bag over their head and tie them up and drag them over, whatever.
2. Perform one of the tasks below with either/both versions to merge them back together! These have to be done with some level of sincerity -- you don't need to have existing CR to make them work, but you have to have some real feeling behind them, even if it's just 'I really want to help this stranger out.'
- to restore joy, dance or play with them.
- to restore affection/love, share something about them that makes your life brighter.
- to restore sorrow, grieve something with them or console them.
- to restore anger, get in a fight of some kind with them.
- to restore disgust, try something mutually unpleasant with them.
- to restore calm, share a mutually calming activity with them.
- to restore fear, share how you overcame a fear with them.
There will be (optional!) memshare and empathy bond items available for the duration of the game to help facilitate these, but they can only be used to fulfill tasks, not to share unrelated to the game.
3. The final step, to lock things back in place? Give them a kiss you really mean in some way. This doesn't necessarily have to be romantic or desirous! Caring kisses, hateful kisses, contemptuous kisses -- that sort of thing will work just as well. You can also kiss hands or foreheads etc. instead of mouths. Like the tasks, the important part is that there's some real, true sentiment behind it.
If you skip the final step? Well, sucks for them -- the emotion will get thrown back out of them after a few minutes, and reappear in a different random part of the pasture, meaning you have to start all over. Oops!
-
SCORING: All participating teams can submit up to 2 kisses received by their team’s characters which they consider their best/most meaningful (this is an OOC decision). Have this in by game end time!
2 winning teams will be picked based on ‘kissee most affected by the experience,’ and 2 winning teams will be picked based on ‘kisser who put most effort/creativity into fixing the kissee.’ I may shuffle the number of winning teams depending on turnout, however.
Participating Weeds get prizes also!
other stuff
- HOWEVER BECAUSE OF HOW RP WORKS I'm going to say spacetime is ICly loosey-goosey in the pasture for the duration of the game, so you can get your emotions restored multiple times with multiple characters, e.g. if Pond Fiend has five separate encounters with five other Twsts trying to restore love to him? Somehow those five all happened and they are all valid. Live your dreams.
- Once you are restored the first time, you can actually keep going and continue helping to restore other people if you want to. HOWEVER with a single restoration completed, the location boundaries no longer apply, so you could in fact hide in the woods or indoors for the rest of the game. It’s up to you and what your character would do!
- The replicas have the same abilities as the original characters (with equal pasture nerfing.) Injury inflicted on them is reflected 1:1 onto the character they came from and vice-versa.
- No, you cannot perform the task with your own emotion replica and make out with yourself to get them back inside you. Or like, you CAN do both those things, but it won't fix the problem. I'm sorry.
- Characters can actually work together, though! As an example, maybe Biscuit runs into Fantasia's replica and can't/won't do the task to get him back into Fantasia, but does think Fantasia is very hot and would plant one on him! At the same time, Zenith can do the task with Fantasia easily, buuuuut they're in a big mutual snit and Zenith doesn't want to kiss him as a result. Zenith and Biscuit could tag team to fix Fantasia up, with one handling the task and the other doing the smooch.
questions??
Re: questions??
2. Just to confirm: In order to go back inside a building, do they have to be restored, restore someone else, or both?
THANK YOU I'M EXCITE
Re: questions??
2. They have to be restored at least one time to go back into buildings! If you want to be able to play multiple restorations before the ability to go back inside kicks in then absolutely, that is what canon IC timeline fuckery is for.
Re: questions??
but also the idea of Maomao being a disgusted cat at shenanigans is funny to me
Re: questions??
However if they want to provide more indirect assistance (go into barns and pass people things they need to use on replicas from inside...hand game participants drugs to use on other characters...help dig pit traps game participants can shove replicas into...) they can absolutely go as wild with that as they want.

Re: questions??
is it OK for people to ((initially lose the emotion)) at the later half of the game rather than the first half
mostly asking bc tart is a drama queen and i am good with ppl dealing with his shit but he can have a drama any time and i want other ppl to have the stage first
Re: questions??
YOU CAN HOWEVER SAY THE EFFECT KICKS IN LATE AND YOUR CHARACTER ONLY GETS EMOTIONRIPPED HALFWAY THROUGH THE GAME YEAH, THAT'S TOTES LEGAL
Re: questions??
I'm not sure what my specific question is; this is more like - would any of that cause issues for you running the game?
2. What happens if someone doesn't get their emotion restored before the game ends?
