ritual number ??: ghosts of christmas past
SO! Faith's next ritual is Ghosts of Christmas Past aka memshare bingo. Yes, she is phishing the flocks again. This game will run December 8th through the 14th. Results will go up at some point on the 15th.
Here is how it works: every player will get a bingo board that they'll fill out themselves OOCly. ICly, that's just how their board looks! But OOCly, you can go through a list of memory types and fill up your board as you please. Characters will also get a stack of special memory coins. They'll be festive and shit, don't worry. These will work in any water source, but the character must imbue the coin with a memory first.
But Juri, you may ask! What if my character is an amnesiac and therefore doesn't have memories prior to coming here! To that I say, time to dig up your sheep memories. Alternatively, they could imbue the coin with, like, "sad memory???" and get some bizarrely censored glitched out memory. idk I'm not the boss of you. Do whatever is most fun for you.
Everyone will get two bingo cards that they'll (OOCly) put together themselves from a list: one for memories seen and one for memories shown. Yes, that means you could potentially be serving up 25 memories if you're aiming for blackout. To help mitigate this, you can have the same memory count for different things.
Like let's say I show Crois's death memory to Minuet. That can count as "death." And then I show Crois's death memory to Charon. That can count as "sad"! But just showing it to Minuet wouldn't count for both "death" and "sad." This is why I'm sharing this well in advance, so you guys can start thinking and writing or digging up links or uploading things and just thinking about it in general.
Here is the big thing: you do not have to complete two bingo boards. The second is bonus! It is wintertime, okay, we all get it, don't worry. "Winning" criteria is based on quality (. . . "quality"), not quantity. dwbi.
I'm going to say that sharing multiple memories with the same person is kosher, but try to mix it up for turn in. To keep people from shotgunning bingo, the cards have an IC one hour cool down with the same person. The idea is for many people to share many things. So you could share memories with your SO this way! But only a few of them would count depending on how long you did it for.
There will be three winners! They will be determined based on things like "spice," variety, and Dealer's Choice. The dealer is Ash. And because this is meant to be a light game where Faith is gathering information, losers will not be heavily punished. It'll be something like a Christmas card with your most embarrassing memory on it or whatever. We'll have fun. This is only a trauma game if you decide to make it a trauma game, much like her last game.
Weeds can participate! Depending on how they score compared to the flocks, their rewards can range from just their memory coins to . . . something. Maybe a Christmas miracle. Who knows. Faith may ICly recruit a couple of Weeds to assist with the ritual so if you're interested in doing that instead, reach out to me!
So! You have a couple weeks before the game to start brainstorming memories you want to use and building your boards.
Your boards can be found here while the list of memory topics can be found here. "gee, there sure is a theme here." haha yeah I know. To use the sheet, you'll need to copy it to your own google drive!
The Google Sheet for the card has instructions on the "Directions" tab but basically, there are two tabs: Free Square (auto-randomize) and Free Square (BLANK). The blank one is for if you want to build your card, the randomizer is if you want to be lazy and have it randomize for you. I would strongly recommend making a copy of your card in the blank tab. Any modifications you make to the randomized one will randomize it again, whereas you can, you know, keep track of links in the blank one. I'm a helper like that.
Once again, I will address some pre-emptive questions:
Based on this list, if I view a sad childhood memory, will that count as both?
It will count as one; I leave it to the player's discretion as to which one it counts for.
If I toss one memory into the fountain, can I get blackout from everyone viewing it if it's a particularly spicy memory?
no that's too easy. make a personal connection, damn you.
Can we do more than two boards?

No! I'm going to say you don't have to include links, but just a quick one sentence blurb about whose memory they saw or who they shared a certain type of memory with. But using the sheet will help and hopefully make your life easier, too. I tried.
Does my character have to know what memory they put in the coin before tossing it in?
Nope! They could just ICly leave it up to RNG. Or maybe the coin gets confused and puts whatever memory you actually want to show people. It's all good.
Can my board be all one thing?
yeah sure I'm not your mom. do a whole board of reticence. but you better have a bunch of different memories for it.
